  • Co-branded card programmes
    Several car rental providers worldwide have partnered with Visa and its member banks to create their own co-branded Visa card programme. Often used as the basis for a loyalty programme, these co-branded cards can act as a customer loyalty tool, a sales driver and a convenient payment mechanism – all at the same time.
  • New technology initiatives
    The international implementation of EMV chip technology provides some interesting new opportunities for car rental providers. For example, Visa payWave’s contactless technology – where payment-related instructions are securely exchanged using wireless technology – can be used to enhance self-service check-in processes or loyalty point accrual. It can also be used to provide secure access to vehicles or vehicle drop-off facilities.
