Verified by Visa is an online identity-checking service that
brings added security and confidence to e-commerce payments.
Public sector organisations that use Verified by Visa can
minimise fraud and misuse by ensuring that procurement cards are
only used by authorised cardholders. Verified by Visa can also work
for citizens by protecting acceptance and providing added
confidence when making payments to local government or tax
authorities.
Visa CodeSure™
Visa CodeSure™ is an example of Visa’s commitment to payment
security and cardholder authentication. Visa CodeSure™ cards
incorporate a miniature key pad and display on the reverse of the
card. Cardholders enter a PIN on the key pad which then generates a
one-time code for secure authentication online by Verified by
Visa.
As a result cardholders do not have to remember passwords and
the public sector programme manager can be confident that online
transactions have been completed by legitimate cardholders. The
Visa CodeSure™ card can also be used for online and telephone
banking services.
