Safety first

This section provides useful advice on
using your card safely, avoiding fraudulent emails and websites and
protecting children online.
Card safety
Visa has a range of security measures in place to ensure you can
shop confidently wherever you are, but it also pays to take simple
precautions such as keeping your PIN safe, managing your receipts
and vetting online retailers.

Fraudulent emails and websites
Visa will never email or telephone cardholders to ask for their
account number or other card, personal or security details. If you
receive an email claiming to come from Visa or any other
organisation requesting personal information, do not provide the
details, instead, contact us and let us know.

Protecting children online
A small number of individuals seek to illegally exploit the Visa
payment system to facilitate the sale of sexual images of children
online. As a founding partner of the Child Exploitation and Online
Protection Centre – a UK-based organisation dedicated to protecting
children from sexual exploitation – we are wholly committed to
safeguarding children online.
