m-commerce

Visa is working to develop mobile as a future
payment device for customers and retailers on the move.
Twenty years ago, no one imagined that mobile phones would be
used to take photographs, navigate through unknown cities, send
e-mails or shop. Yet they can – and around six in ten of the
world's population now has a mobile phone.
As the mobile market expands, Visa is investing heavily in the
technology behind m-commerce. This is any type of commerce
conducted using mobile devices, such as mobile phones or personal
digital assistants (PDAs).
With Visa, retailers will be able to accept (and customers make)
payments with a mobile. This will be for any amount, not just for
low value payments.
Future innovations will also enable retailers to sell to
customers surfing the internet on their phones and to make payments
mobile to mobile – a solution that allows smaller retailers to
easily accept payment easily.
