Sports partnerships

Visa sponsors the world’s two greatest sporting events – the Olympic and Paralympic Games and the FIFA World Cup.

Olympic and Paralympic Games

Visa has been a proud sponsor of the summer and winter Olympic Games since 1986 and has also sponsored the Paralympic Games since 2002.

We’re now looking forward to London 2012 and the return of the Olympic and Paralympic Games to Europe.

Our Olympic and Paralympic sponsorship gives us a global marketing platform of astonishing range and flexibility. FIFA

No sport is more popular around the world than football. The 2006 World Cup reached a cumulative audience of 32.5 billion viewers in over 200 countries.

In 2007, FIFA ratified Visa as one of its six worldwide partners. As a FIFA ‘top tier’ partner, we have access to exclusive marketing assets and a broad range of rights relating to competitions, special events and development programmes.

We are sponsoring not just the World Cups in South Africa (2010) and Brazil (2014), but also some 44 additional FIFA competitions in the run up to 2014.

Linking up with football’s most important, high-profile showcase is a natural association for Visa, one of the most recognised and trusted financial services brands in the world. Our sponsorship builds further recognition for the Visa brand, as well as driving Visa product acquisition and usage for our members, and helping to motivate employees.

As FIFA’s exclusive financial services partner, Visa is the only payment card accepted onsite for retail sales at all FIFA competitions. Visa creates and manages the entire payment system infrastructure throughout all FIFA World Cup venues.
