Who we are

Visa Europe provides the brand, systems, services and rules that enable electronic payments between millions of European consumers, businesses and merchants.

Visa Europe is part of the global Visa network. It is an association of 4,600 European banks and financial institutions – together, they influence and oversee the management of the company, our systems and our operations. Visa Europe is a privately-owned incorporated company.

The global picture

On 3 October 2007, Visa Inc. announced the completion of its global restructuring – Visa Canada, Visa U.S.A. and Visa International have become subsidiaries of Visa Inc.

Visa Europe will remain a membership association and will become a licensee of, and own a minority interest in, Visa Inc.
